About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Muskari IT Solutions ("Mechi", "we", "us"), which runs the Mechi dating app. By creating an account you agree to them, to our community guidelines and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use Mechi.
Who can use Mechi
To use Mechi you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- give your real first name, surname and date of birth, and an email address you own;
- have only one account, and use it only for yourself;
- not have been removed from Mechi before, unless we agreed you may return;
- not be legally barred from using a service like this.
You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done with your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
Your profile and content
You own the photos, bio and messages you post. You give us permission to store them and show them to other users as the app works, only for running Mechi. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from short-lived backup copies.
Your photos must clearly show you, show other people only with their permission, contain no nudity or sexual content, never show children on their own, and include no phone numbers, social media handles or advertising. You must have the right to post everything you upload. We may remove any content that breaks these terms.
Rules of conduct
Everyone on Mechi must follow our community guidelines. In short, you must not:
- pretend to be someone else, or use someone else's photos;
- harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone;
- send sexual messages or images to anyone who has not clearly welcomed them;
- post hateful content about a person's ethnicity, tribe, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or nationality;
- ask for money, M-Pesa transfers, gifts or financial details, or run any scam;
- advertise, sell or recruit for any business, including sex work;
- share another person's private information, photos or messages without their permission;
- use Mechi for anything illegal under Kenyan law;
- copy, scrape or misuse the app, or try to get around its limits or security.
If you break these rules, we may remove content, limit your account, or remove it permanently. Where someone may be at risk of serious harm, we may contact the police.
Your safety
Mechi verifies email addresses and dates of birth, but does not run criminal record or identity checks. We cannot promise that people are who they say they are, and we are not responsible for how other users behave, on or off the app. Read our safety tips before meeting anyone.
Use Block and Report in any chat to stop someone contacting you or to tell us about someone who breaks these terms. If you are in danger, call 999 or 112.

- Payment. You pay once through M-Pesa by approving a prompt on your phone. Premium starts as soon as Safaricom confirms the payment.
- No automatic renewal. Premium ends after 30 days unless you pay again. Paying before it ends adds 30 days to the time you have left.
- Refunds. Payments are not refundable, except where Kenyan law requires it or where you paid but did not receive Premium because of our error. Contact [email protected] with your M-Pesa receipt code.
- Deleting your account ends any Premium time you have left, without a refund.
- Changes. We may change Premium's price or features. Changes never affect time you have already paid for.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile, Settings, Delete my account, or as described on our account deletion page. This permanently deletes your profile, photos, matches and messages, as described in our privacy policy.
We may suspend or remove your account, without refund, if you break these terms, if we believe you are under 18, or if the law requires it. Where it is safe and lawful, we will tell you why. If you think we made a mistake, email [email protected].
We may change or stop Mechi. If we close the service, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app where we can.
Our responsibility to you
We work to keep Mechi running and safe, but we provide it "as is". We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that you will find a match.
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for losses caused by other users. If we are found responsible for a loss, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it happened. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under Kenyan consumer protection law that cannot be removed by agreement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of Kenya. Please contact us first at [email protected]; most problems can be solved quickly that way.
Changes to these terms
If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Mechi after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account.
